The film, which also stars actor Bhumi Pednekar, is a satirical comedy based on Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan— a governmental initiative to improve the sanitation conditions in India. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, it will highlight the importance of the pay-and-use toilet scheme and bring to light the issue of open defecation, mostly in rural areas of India. The film releases on August 11 and will clash with Imtiaz Ali’s Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starred.
On March 30, Akshay Kumar had shared the first poster of his film ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ by tweeting.
